Air Conditioner/Heat Pump Not Cooling?

  • CHECK YOUR FILTERS and change them if you have not changed them in the past 30 days. See if this changes anything.

  • Check to see if your thermostat is running. If the screen is blank, check to see if you have water in your drain pan, under your Air Conditioner Coil usually located in your attic. If you find water in the pan, you can use a shop vac or any other way to get the water out and your unit will usually reset itself and start again. There is an emergency switch in your pan for the reason of not allowing the water to overflow and cause a flood. Please note that although you got the system running again, you will want to get a technician out soon after to see WHY the pan had water in it. Always keep a good eye on the water level in the pan while waiting for a technician to come out.

Thermostat Not Working?

  • Check your thermostat settings and make sure you have the temperature set below the current room temperature and the system switch is on the COOL or AUTO position.
  • Try to get the air conditioner to turn on by lowering the thermostat to its lowest temperature setting.
  • Check the power disconnect switch by each unit (Is it on or off) Please note you should not play around with this switch.
  • Check the fuse/breaker at the electrical panel for both the outdoor and indoor unit. Do not reset a tripped breaker. They can be very dangerous and may explode.
  • Make sure all registers are open and not obstructed.

  • Got a NEST Thermostat? Make sure your thermostat does not have a Green Leaf on the display. If you do, you have it set to ECO Mode. When you have your NEST set to ECO mode, it will continue to bring the temperatures up in the summer to conserve energy. Learn more here

Q. I just changed my Thermostat and now it does not work.

A. You may have blown out an internal fuse or have lost connection or
short-circuited your wires. All will require an experienced technician
to come out and fix.

Heat Pump/Furnace Not Heating?

  • CHECK YOUR FILTERS and change them if you have not changed them in the past 30 days. See if this changes anything.
  • Check your thermostat settings and make sure you have the temperature set below the current room temperature and the system switch is on the HEAT or AUTO position.
  • Try to get the air conditioner to turn on by lowering the thermostat to its highest temperature setting.
  • Make sure all registers are open and not obstructed.
  • Check the power disconnect switch by each unit (outdoor and indoor).
  • Check the fuse/breaker at the electrical panel for both the outdoor and indoor unit. Do not reset a tripped breaker. They can be very dangerous and may explode.

For Gas Furnace also check:

  • Check to make sure the gas control valve to the furnace is open.
  • Check the pilot light. (Electronic ignitions will not have a pilot light).

The technicians were very professional and communicated very well about what they were doing. They worked outside in 90+ degrees and through a rain storm. I would recommend them for any plumbing services in the future.

I was able to get an appointment to tune up my AC unit the week following the week that I called. The technician was on time - wore a mask, gloves, and shoe coverings and endeavored to stick only to the thermostats and unit in the attic and went around to the back (I live in a town home) without going through my home. I truly appreciated this approach. The unit was serviced and the cost was very reasonable. I “found” this company because my daughter uses their services too and has been very happy with them.
