Even if you have an old furnace, there are repairs that can be cost effective to get your gas furnace up and running again. In this case the furnace circuit board is malfunctioning due to a worn out molex plug socket mounted on the circuit board. The circuit board is giving off false failure codes and was verified by testing the component the board identified as failing. The component was fine and the board triggered a different failure once the temp switch issue was bypassed. This time the board was sending too much voltage to the gas valve which prevented it from operating properly. Replacing the circuit board resolved the home owners problems and the cost was very reasonable for the diagnosis and repair.
